Legislation Watch: MO, NJ, CA

  • Missouri — HB2011: The Fiscal Year 2027 Department of Social Services appropriations bill, funding the MO HealthNet Division that administers Missouri’s $216.3 million first-year Rural Health Transformation Program award — signed by Governor Mike Kehoe on June 30, 2026 as part of the $50.7 billion state budget and delivered to the Secretary of State. KFVS, June 30, 2026

  • New Jersey — A5327 / S2027: The Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations act, totaling $60,743,569,000 in State funds and $30,495,124,195 in federal funds and carrying New Jersey’s roughly $147 million Rural Health Transformation Program award administered by the Department of Health — passed both houses on June 30, 2026 (Assembly 58-20, Senate 26-14, with companion Senate Bill 2027 tabled in favor of the Assembly vehicle) and heads to Governor Mikie Sherrill.

  • California — AB109 / SB111: The Budget Act of 2026, which carries the appropriation authority for California’s $233.6 million first-year Rural Health Transformation Program award to the Department of Health Care Access and Information — signed by Governor Gavin Newsom on June 29, 2026 and chaptered as Chapter 19 and Chapter 21, Statutes of 2026.

Maine’s Rural Health Transformation Program Advisory Committee brings together providers, community organizations, Tribal partners, employers, educators, and other partners to help guide program implementation. The Committee provides input on priorities, implementation strategies, and opportunities to strengthen rural health across Maine.
